Multitasking data center fiber patching system to debut

In April, Belden (www.belden.com) plans to unveil a new fiber patch-ing system designed to supportincreased deployment of optical-fiber cabling in the data center.



Belden's FiberExpress Ultra Patch Panel System, slated to be available in April, is designed for flexible manageability in the data center, and in connections to the desktop, campus, or factory floor.

The FiberExpress Ultra Patch Panel System, built to support higher transmission speeds in backbone infrastructures as well as data centers, is intended for a variety of patching applications linking the data center to the desktop, campus, or factory floor.


Belden says its product is designed to maximize floor and rack space while providing scalability for future expansion.It will feature “built-in manageability” for connector and patch cord identification, protection, routing, andcable management.

The company adds that its fiber-optic patch system will support LC, SC, and ST-compatible and otherconnector adapter modules, which can be mixed and matched within the panel.
