ADC extends TrueNet CopperTen warranty

March 13, 2008 -- ADC announced that its TrueNet CopperTen portfolio now features "a 20/20 warranty," i.e. both a 20-year product warranty and a 20-year Zero-Bit-Error warranty. Additionally, the company confirmed that its entire CopperTen line meets both the Telecommunications Industry Association's (TIA) and the International Standards Organization's (ISO) newly ratified Augmented Category 6 (Category 6a) cabling standards.

"ADC's TrueNet CopperTen portfolio provides our enterprise customers with the product longevity and industry-standard compliance that's necessary in today's data centers," comments Jaxon Lang, vice president Global Connectivity Solutions Americas for ADC. "We firmly believe in the design and reliability of our entire CopperTen line. Our new extended warranties reflect our confidence in the portfolio, and back both physical component performance and data throughput."

ADC's TrueNet CopperTen portfolio is an end-to-end system of patch panels, termination blocks, patch cords, modular jacks and cable that feature patent-pending design elements to minimize alien crosstalk and insertion loss. The company says its CopperTen portfolio incorporates features that improve installation handling and energy efficiency in the data center, in conjunction with the company's patented AirES technology.

The TIA's newly ratified Category 6a cabling standard, TIA-568-B.2-10, defines the requirements for Category 6a channel, permanent link and components for 10GBASE-T applications in data centers and LANs. The international version, ISO 11801:2002 Amendment 1, which only defines channel requirements, identified as Class EA (Category 6a) and Class FA (shielded Category 7), has also been ratified.

ADC's CopperTen portfolio, with its new 20/20 warranty, is designed and tested to meet each of the standards.
