Belden expands modular enclosure and rack systems line

April 15, 2008 -- As an extension to its line of IT networking enclosures, Belden is now offering equipment housing and storage racks designed specifically to meet the needs of the professional broadcast, audio/video, security and mobile telecom markets.

The new products include the Belden XSF and XMF Series for broadcast applications, and the XME and XMER Series for broadcast, audio/video, security and wireless telecom applications. Key design criteria, according to the company, include uncompromisingly strong and well-built structures, along with component features that have been designed specifically to optimize the performance of cable and to provide flexibility in cable management.

All of the cabinets and rack frames comprising the four configurations feature: a welded steel frame construction; the Belden Quick Mount system for fast and easy cable routing; a selection of sizes and options to meet diverse space requirements for height and depth, with units suitable for standalone or ganged configurations; a wide selection of components, including reversible doors, riser bases, side and top panels, spacing panels, EIA rail kits, drawers, and frontmount work surfaces; a choice of accessories for outfitting enclosures and racks, including shelving, mounting devices, cable tie mounts, and other cable management support options; perforated, solid glass and vented doors, and a variety of top panel options to provide passive convective cooling; a choice of powerdistribution units to accommodate specific project requirements.

Belden's enclosures and racks are billed as being well-suited to support infrastructures for: structured cabling systems; copper or optical fiber cable and connectivity systems (including patch cords, harnesses and cable assemblies); and wireless LAN systems. To assist users in configuring and ordering a system to fit their size, space and component storage requirements, the company notes that it offers a simplified ordering matrix as well as personalized service and support.
