AFL Tele debuts 'One-Click' fiber endface cleaner

May 6, 2008 -- AFL Telecommunications has introduced the One-Click Cleaner, billed as an easy-to-use option for cleaning SC fiber connections.

The device uses a mechanical push action to advance an optical-grade cleaning tape while the cleaning tip is rotated to ensure the fiber end-face is effectively, but gently cleaned. Users simply insert the One-Click Cleaner into an SC adapter and push until an audible "click" is heard, indicating a clean connection, according to company representatives.

The automatic advance feature ensures each cleaning is performed with fresh cleaning tape, says the company. With over 500 cleanings in one unit, the cleaner is effective on a variety of contaminates, including dust and oils.

Ideal for field technicians, the device is small enough to fit in a shirt pocket and is intended as a handy addition to any cleaning kit.
