Peerless ships 0.4" A/V mounts

May 16, 2008 -- Peerless Industries, a supplier of professional-grade audio/visual mounting products, has introduced its ultra-thin Slimline universal screen mounts, which measure 0.4 inches thin.

The company says the mounts deliver "a virtually no-profile installation" that positions flat panel screens from wall surfaces at the approximate thickness of a CD case.

Designed to complement Hitachi's 1.5-inch ultra-thin TVs, the Slimline mount's universal design and 150-lb UL-tested load capacity can accommodate most ultra-slim TVs, says Peerless. The company claims the mounts can also handle the weight of most standard flat panel LCD and plasma TVs.

The mounts' horizontal and vertical screen positioning adjustments and industrial-strength Velcro latching system enable fast and secure installation. Once the mount is installed, the TV is pressed down to engage the Velcro system, to prevent its being accidentally moved from its set position.

The product line includes three universal sizes for TVs up to 60 inches, and is complemented by an in-wall A/V accessory box to allow electrical outlets, cables and plugs, power conditioners, etc., to nest neatly behind the mount's 0.4-inch profile.

For concrete, brick or other surfaces where internal cable management isn't an option, Peerless also offers an on-the-wall cable management system and shelving units to hold A/V components.

The company will exhibit the Slimline mounts at the upcoming InfoComm 2008 in Las Vegas.
