July 15, 2008 -- Sunrise Telecom announced a new corporate management structure, as part of an organizational restructuring that began several months ago. The provider of
test and measurement instruments for telecom, wireless and cable networks says its "new, integrated" structure will allow it to leverage its technologies, expertise and products to better address the market's needs, and speed key business decisions.
As part of the restructuring, Gerhard Beenen, chief operating officer has left the company effective June 30, 2008. Beenen joined Sunrise Telecom in August 2006 as president and general manager of the company's Telecom Products Group. In May 2008, Beenen was promoted to the position of chief operating officer.
Commenting on the announcement, Paul Marshall, Sunrise Telecom's president and CEO, acknowledged Beenen's contributions to the company. "Gerhard has been a valuable leader and we thank him for all he has done. His accomplishments include improving the development processes, better positioning the company for RoHS and environmental compliance, and driving overall efficiencies."
The company reports that a key element of its reorganization process was combining its broadband, wireline and fiber optics operations into a single business "which mirrors the convergence of the industry." The new structure has resulted in the elimination of duplications and redundancies in the organization, says the company, including eliminating the position of chief operating officer. Key functional areas will now report to the company's CEO.
"This new executive alignment will allow Sunrise Telecom to better focus the management team's efforts to achieve profitable growth, and deliver world-class solutions to its customers," concludes Marshall.
